From the island of Psara to Mount Athos and from Mount Athos to the remote island of Kastelorizo…
The Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) are travelling for the third time to this small island of the Dodecanese in order to provide Primary Health Care services to the residents who, during the winter months, are not more than 200.
The clinic of the MMUs will operate on 25 January from 9:00 to 18:00 and the residents of Kastelorizo will have at their disposal doctors with 14 medical specialties as well as a variety of services.
Along with the operation of the clinic, speeches have been scheduled for 24 January on the topics “Learning Difficulties” and “Parents & Child”. Moreover, a speech entitled “Becoming familiar with the Mediterranean Diet” as well as a First Aid Lesson that everyone can attend have been scheduled for 25 January.
For the purpose of offering better service to the public, it is recommended that an appointment is arranged at 2102447694 (13.00 – 16.00, working days).
The programme is implemented by the civil non-profit-making organization Regeneration & Progress, with the exclusive financial support of Stavros Niarchos Foundation, under the scientific supervision of the 1st Orthopedic Clinic of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and in cooperation with Health Units SA (AEMY).
It should be noted that the civil non-profit-making organization “Regeneration & Progress” also implements, with the exclusive financial support of Stavros Niarchos Foundation, on the island of Kastelorizo the programme “Sports Paths”, which promotes sports education through actions that boost mental and physical health, with the aim to improve quality of life for children and adults on remote islands.
