On 31 December, New Years’ Eve, a few minutes after the turn of the year, the starting pistol was fired for SNF RUN: 2020 FIRST RUN, which was carried out successfully, for the fourth consecutive year, around the Christmas World of  Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC).

34,000 people chose to welcome the new year at SNFCC, enjoying a spectacular night with fireworks, water fountain choreographies, cheerful music, dance and, of course, the first race of the year, in which a large number of people participated in order to run the first four (4) kilometers into…the new decade in this festive atmosphere!

The race was organized by Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), which covered the entire cost of its production ensuring free participation in the race for all, in cooperation with SNFCC and the civil non-profit-making organization “Regeneration & Progress”.

Like in the previous years, SNF RUN: 2020 FIRST RUN had a charitable character since runners were able to support, through their participation in the race, non-profit-making organizations that perform remarkable work for children and vulnerable social groups. The amount raised from the participants’ contribution, which was tripled by SNF, will be granted to the organizations that participated in the race this year, namely to: Children of Spring, Angels of Joy and Minors Protection Association of Piraeus “The Good Shepherd”.

Anna-Kynthia Bousdoukou, Managing Director of iMEdD, Executive Director of SNF DIALOGUES and Journalist, presented the evening at SNFCC, whereas representatives of SNF and SNFCC awarded medals to the first three men and women in the general classification of SNF RUN 2020: FIRST RUN.
